A BOY, aged 14, has been arrested after a huge fire broke out in Glasgow’s east end on Sunday.
Emergency services responded to the blaze at Eskdale House on Wardie Road – which was formerly a homeless shelter but is now derelict – at around 3.15pm on April 27.
Six fire appliances were scrambled and the blaze was brought under control around five hours late.
On Monday afternoon, Police Scotland said that an arrest had been made in connection with the incident.
A statement said: “Emergency services were called to a fire at a derelict building on Wardie Road, Glasgow, around 3.15pm on Sunday, 27 April, 2025.
“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There are no reported injuries. All roads have now reopened.
“The boy will be reported to the relevant authorities.”
Earlier on Monday, a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 3.12pm on Sunday, April 27 to reports of a fire affecting a derelict building on Wardie Road in Glasgow.
"At its height, Operations Control mobilised six appliances to the area. There are no reported casualties.
"One appliance remains in attendance at the scene."
