PATNA: Bihar NDA leaders on Tuesday attacked the Telangana Congress President A Revanth Reddy for issuing a “biased and narrow-minded” statement over the posting of the Bihar-origin officers on key administrative posts in Telangana.
Reddy fuelled a controversy on Monday when he said Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) had Bihari DNA in him and was running the state with Bihari officers like chief secretary Somesh Kumar and acting DGP Anjani Kumar.
Revanth made the controversial comments in Secunderabad while attacking political strategist Prashant Kishor whom TRS has roped in ahead of the 2023 assembly polls and 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Revanth said, “KCR, who used to bank on his welfare schemes to win elections, is now taking the help of a political strategist from Bihar in Prashant Kishor.”
“I condemn the biased & parochial statement by @INCTelangana president @revanth_anumula about deployment of officers of Bihar origin on top posts of Telangana. It reflects his hatred & apathy for a region which has enormously contributed to bureaucracy & nation-building,” Bihar’s information and public relations and water resources minister Sanjay Kumar Jha said in a series of tweets posted on Tuesday.
“Mr Reddy forgets that the same Bihari DNA has produced legends like Lord Buddha, Guru Gobind Singh, Ashoka & Chandragupta Maurya. It's Bihari DNA that gave India its first global knowledge hub, Nalanda University. It's Bihari DNA that gave India its first president Dr Rajendra Prasad. …… It was Mahatma Gandhi's robust faith in Bihari DNA that he started Satyagraha from this great land. It's Bihari DNA of Aryabhata, Vashishtha Narayan Singh that has contributed significantly to the field of science,” said Jha, who is also the national general secretary of Janta dal-United.
“It was Bihari DNA of Sri Jayaprakash Narayan which sowed the seed of Congress's downfall. It's Bihari DNA that gave poets like Dinkar, Nagarjun, Phanishwar Nath Renu.
BIHARI DNA has, is and will keep on contributing to India's socio, economic & political development PROUDLY,” Jha said in another tweet.
Reacting over Revanth’s remarks, the BJP’s OBC Morcha’s national general secretary Nikhil Anand said the Telangana Congress chief’s remarks had exposed the Congress’ divisive politics. “Prashant Kishor is a professional man. He works for political parties after charging a fee. It is his decision to work with any party. If Kishor promotes the Telangana CM after charging his fee, what is the problem in it? Why is the Congress making adverse comments on the entire people of Bihar?” Anand asked.
The BJP leader further sought an apology from senior Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi over Revanth’s remarks against the people of Bihar.
