Unlike a lot of other tech, TVs keep getting cheaper, even at the top end. Some of our favourite 4K OLED models from brands such as LG, Samsung and Hisense are now available for less than £1,000, with a few decent, budget-friendly models on offer for less than £200.
Spotting a genuine deal isn’t always easy when there is such a wide range of prices on the market. That’s where our expert guide to the best TV deals steps in, to help you cut through the noise and find the discounts worth knowing about.
If you’re not sure which type of set is right for you, keep in mind that bigger doesn’t always mean better. Ultra HD (4K) is now the standard for most broadcasts, especially on streaming platforms such as Prime Video and Apple TV+. For a while, they were prohibitively expensive, but today, most good 4K TVs are cheaper than you might think – you can find decent ultra HD televisions for less than £600.
The new standard of 4K also means ‘full HD’ televisions have become bargain-basement fodder. They have half the detail of a 4K TV, but even massive sets can be picked up for less than £200. These make ideal TVs for bedrooms and other places you wouldn’t regularly sit down to watch.
For each discount, I’ve highlighted the best deal on the most popular size of TV, but the same deal can often be found on larger or smaller sets.
Why you can trust us to find the best TV deals
I’m our resident TVs expert at IndyBest, with more than a decade specialising in the tech and gaming industry, so I know a great deal when I see one. I only recommend discounts on TVs that have been tried and tested by us, or come from brands that we know and trust.
I work alongside our dedicated team of deal hunters, who are also constantly scanning online retailers for the best prices on top-rated televisions. We look out for discounts on the most popular sets from trustworthy brands, as well as deals on TVs across a range of different sizes and to suit different budgets. Whilst you can find standout offers during sales events like Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day, we’ll tell you when they are impressive price drops the rest of the year.

LG B4, 48in OLED smart TV: Was £699, now £599, Johnlewis.co.uk

Sitting in the middle of the brand’s range, the LG B4 is a superb and affordable OLED TV for watching shows and movies. This model (the LG B46) adds a few key features that make it ideal for gaming, too. The rich, 120Hz, 4K display has support for Nvidia G-sync and AMD FreeSync, meaning less stuttering during fast-paced games. Right now, there’s £100 off at John Lewis when you opt for the 48in display. AO is also matching this price, plus an extra £20 off for members, if you’d prefer to purchase it elsewhere.
Amazon Fire TV 55in Omni QLED series 4K TV: Was £749.99, now £519.99, Amazon.co.uk

We’ve seen the Fire TV Omni drop to as little as £419 in the Black Friday sale, but you can still save hundreds on the QLED series 4K model right now. For vibrant, clear and crisp pictures, you can’t go wrong. Thanks to QLED technology, you can expect all your favourite movies and shows to leap off the screen with vivid, lifelike colours.
Amazon Fire TV 40in 2-series HD smart TV: Was £299.99, now £209.99, Amazon.co.uk

The cheapest TV in the Amazon Fire TV range is currently £90 off. Its main downside is its lack of 4K resolution, so the picture quality isn’t as sharp as more expensive sets. However it’s still an excellent budget option for those who don’t want to spend too much. You get the same superb Amazon smart TV streaming experience, the Alexa voice remote, and a full set of the most popular streaming apps and services.
Hisense 43A6NTUK 43in 4K UHD smart TV: Was £259, now £189, Currys.co.uk

You can save £70 on this already cheap 43in Hisense TV. An LED set launched in 2023, the A6KT supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision for improved contrast and detail during darker scenes. Built-in Alexa means you can control smart speakers around the home and use voice commands to play music, movies and TV shows on demand.
Panasonic TV-50W90AEB: Was £499, now £399, Johnlewis.com

Our favourite feature on this Panasonic TV is the processor. It can detect when you’re watching sport, for instance, so it will automatically adjust its settings for the perfect picture and sound. We named it our best TV for picture quality, and right now you can save £100. You’ll need to be quick, though – it’s in John Lewis’ reduced to clear section, so it won’t hang around for long.
Samsung crystal 55in UHD 4K TV: Was £449, now £369.99, Amazon.co.uk

This 2025 Samsung smart TV has all the latest tech and mod-cons you could need for your latest update. It features 4K upscaling powered by a crystal processor 4K, with enhanced clarity and vibrant visuals. With Tizen OS, you’ll get personalised content recommendations and access to top streaming and gaming apps. The built-in gaming hub features thousands of titles from Xbox, with no console needed.
There is currently 18 per cent off the 55in model, which is the cheapest we’ve found on the market. You can also grab a deal at Argos, although for slightly more, if you’d prefer to purchase elsewhere or need same-day collection.
How to know if a TV deal is worth it
You’ll often see TVs on sale with giant discounts that look too good to be true. That’s because most retailers are comparing their current price to the price the television launched at, even years later.
We monitor price changes over time to get an understanding of the true average price of TVs, then compare retailers’ discounts to this average price rather than the outdated RRP. That’s how we can be sure you’re getting a good deal on a great television.
