Forza Horizon 6, just like the previous entries, operates on the car tier system that has every vehicle under a specific Class based on its Performance Index.
The best cars in Forza Horizon 6 are not always the ones with the highest top speed, and each class rewards something different, as Japan’s map makes that more obvious than usual: tight mountain roads, city corners, mixed-surface routes, and highway sections all punish lazy builds.
For most players, the safest approach is to pick cars that are stable, easy to tune, and strong through acceleration zones. A slightly slower car that stays planted will usually beat a faster one that spends half the race sideways or missing checkpoints.
The Forza Horizon 6 car list has more than 550 cars on it, including launch reward cars, Car Pass vehicles, and post-launch playlist additions, so we decided to focus our attention on the cars you can simply go ahead and buy at the Autoshow.

Best D-Class car in Forza Horizon 6
1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex
The 1985 Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex, better known as the AE86, is one of the best D-Class cars in Forza Horizon 6. It is light, rear-wheel drive, and perfectly suited to low-power technical racing. The AE86 does not need a huge build to feel good. Keep it balanced, improve grip and handling first, and use it on routes where stable control and good corner exits are crucial to win.
1991 Peugeot 205 Rallye
The 1991 Peugeot 205 Rallye is the other strong D-Class pick. It is light, nimble, and responsive, which makes it a good choice for players who want something less obvious than the AE86. The Peugeot works best when you balance the power-to-weight ratio, as its low weight makes power-focused builds very unbalanced. If you decide to bring the car out of the D-Class, pay attention to balance.
Best C-Class cars in Forza Horizon 6
2013 Toyota 86
The 2013 Toyota 86 is one of the best C-Class choices. It has very reasonable handling even when speeding, good weight balance when shifting from corner to corner, and frankly, an incredible upgrade path. You can complete most of the game simply by gradually upgrading the Toyota 86.
1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth
The 1992 Ford Escort RS Cosworth is a strong C-Class option if you want a rally car. The Hoonigan Escort model is no longer there, unfortunately, so the regular Escort RS Cosworth has to fill the gap for players who want a compact all-wheel-drive rally car. It is useful on road routes, dirt sections, and mixed events where traction and being planted are important. Upgrades into becoming a buzzing nest of hornets up until the very top level.
1989 Nissan Silvia K’s
The 1989 Nissan Silvia K’s is also worth checking out in C-Class, especially because it is one of the starter cars. It is a good early-game car with rear-wheel-drive handling, and it very much likes to go sideways, so it can be your baseline for any drift build in C-Class and even above.
Best B-Class cars in Forza Horizon 6
2000 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II
The 2000 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II is easily one of the best B-Class cars in Forza Horizon 6. It has all-wheel drive, strong acceleration, and can be built for both high-speed road circuits and slower, technical Touge races. The R34 is easy to overbuild, though, so try not to focus only on torque.
1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STi Version
The 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STi Version is another excellent B-Class pick. It has the traction and balance you want for road, dirt, and mixed tarmac racing, especially in changing conditions with wet or snowy roads. The 22B is especially good for players who want one car that can handle more than one event type without constant retuning.
Best A-Class cars in Forza Horizon 6
2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS
The 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS is the pick for A-Class, mainly because A-Class is where things get serious, and a well-balanced, mid-engine, fast car is the best way to transition from slower tuners to what eventually will be Hypercar racing. The Cayman GTS is especially good on the high-traction tracks where launch and stability play a big part.
2020 Toyota GR Supra
The 2020 Toyota GR Supra is another excellent A-Class option, especially for players who want a modern rear-wheel-drive sports car with strong tuning potential and a continuation of the tuner culture into the A-Class. It’s slower than the Cayman, but has more of a room for tuning without going into the S1.
Best S1-Class cars in Forza Horizon 6
2025 GR GT Prototype
The 2025 GR GT Prototype is the game’s poster car, and it’s for a good reason. It’s a very, very fast car as is, and some tuning can bring its latent potential to the forefront even more. It feels like a natural fit for fast highway racing, and it gives the S-Class a car that can handle high-speed routes without becoming punishing, even as an S2.
1998 Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion
The 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion was a meta car in Forza Horizon 5, and little changed in the newest entry. The car has serious performance out of the box, and an even greater tuning potential. It can be your main car that can enter various events, the only issue with it being quite a steep price of 4,000,000 Credits. While we don’t recommend spending your car voucher on this car specifically (there are better options), if you have one, it’s not the worst target to spend your Credits on.
2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition
The 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition is the safest S1 pick. The R35 platform is suitable for any kind of racing, any kind of build. You can make it a Drag car, a Rally monster, a Drift champion, a Time Attack demon: everything can be achieved with little to no effort. The car is super stable and reliable, and can forgive many mistakes.
Best S2 class cars in Forza Horizon 6
2020 Ferrari SF90 Stradale
The 2020 Ferrari SF90 Stradale is one of the best S2 cars for players who want extreme speed for a relatively reasonable price. At 575,000 Credits, it’s one of the most affordable Ferraris in Autoshow. It’s phenomenal without any tuning: incredible launch and acceleration allow it to contest those few cars that can outpace it on pure top speed. It’s one of the best cars in Forza Horizon 6 overall, not only the S2-Class.
2024 Lamborghini Revuelto
The 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto is another strong S2 pick, but mainly for the versatility of its platform. It’s essentially the 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition of S2, with phenomenal stability even if you do something as perverse as equipping it for off-road racing. The upgrade path the car has allows you to shape it into anything you want.
The 2024 Koenigsegg Gemera also deserves mention here. It’s possibly the best car in the game, but unfortunately, it’s only available through the Car Pass. If it eventually becomes available through the Autoshow, it will become one of the easiest S2 recommendations in the game.
Best R-Class cars in Forza Horizon 6
2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro
The 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro is the best R-Class car in Forza Horizon 6. It sticks to the road and allows you to take the corners at ridiculous speeds. It is extremely fast and aggressive, built to essentially dominate any race you take part in. The only downside, just like with the 1998 Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion, is its steep price: the AMR Pro version of Aston Martin Valkyrie costs 4,200,000 Credits, but you can also get it by earning 2,500 points in the “Horizon Legend” category in the Collection Journal.
