Beauty fans ‘need’ £10 Bobbi Brown primer dupe that rivals Aldi and Primark

Shoppers have been rushing to buy the latest viral product from cult beauty brand Revolution after some beauty buffs noticed it was similar to a much more expensive brand. Some social media users have hailed the budget brand’s Super Base Vitamin Primer as a dupe for Bobbi Brown’s Vitamin Enriched Face Base - which is more than twice the price.

The brand newMakeup Revolution Super Base Vitamin Primer costs just £9.99 for 25ml of product, while Bobbi Brown’s costs £16 for 15ml, or £48.50 for 50ml. Even buying two of the Revolution products would be almost £20 cheaper than buying the luxury primer.

Immediately after announcing the launch on social media, fans flocked to the comments to swoon over the moisturising product.

Revolution said: “VIntroducing the NEW! Vitamin SuperBase Primer. A MUST HAVE product for all the Clean Girl aesthetic. Hydrate, smooth & prep the skin for the perfect makeup application or can be used alone as part of your skincare routine.”

One shopper said: “adding it to the basket,” while another said: “Wow, I definitely need this now.”

One joked: “Oh god I'm never going to have any money,” with some speedy customers having already received theirs, commenting: “Just received mine! Can’t wait to try it out! Looks and feels amazing,” and “I’ve just got mine! I’m looking forward to using it.”

But of course, it was impossible to ignore the similarities to the Bobbi Brown product, In terms of packaging, some of the ingredients and a somewhat inspired name, with commenters exclaiming: “Omg Bobbie Brown dupe” and “Bobbi Brown face base dooopppp”.

The light yellow primer is said to be the ‘ultimate base’ to prep your skin for makeup, with all the comfort of a moisturiser, and benefits of a primer. Packed with skin-nourishing vitamins including Vitamin B, C, and E - like Bobbi Brown’s - as well as Shea Butter and Hyaluronic Acid, this primer works throughout the day to hydrate and nourish skin.

The formula is completely translucent so can be used alone as part of your skincare routine or applied before foundation to prep and plump the skin.

What’s more, is that while the new primer is £10 on the Revolution website, we’ve found it even cheaper for £6.70 on Debenhams as part of their winter sale.

Of course, Revolution aren’t the first to have tried to recreate this iconic makeup product, with Aldi’s Lacura Vitamin Primer also being compared to the cult classic last year.

Lacura Vitabase Primer (Aldi)

The budget supermarket launched their £5.99 primer in June and it’s earned a loyal following since, with nearly 50 five star reviews on the website - with 20 referencing ‘Bobbi Brown’ or ‘dupes’ in the reviews.

Primark also have their own version for £4.50, called the Prep and Perfect Vitamin Enriched Moisturising Primer, but having proven extremely popular in the past, it can prove tricky to get your hands on, and requires a trip to the physical store.

Those wanting to give the new Revolution primer a go can buy it at its lowest price of £6.70 here.
