The sun has been a little slow in showing its very best this spring and we're hopeful of better weather with June just around the corner.
We all know what its like when it gets over the 20 degree mark in Glasgow - it's very much taps aff weather as people rush to our beautiful parks with a BBQ.
Of course the sunshine gives Glaswegians a good excuse to get out of the city as well, perhaps with a trip to Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, a stunning Scottish national park right on our doorstep.

But it's almost become a tradition for the people of Glasgow to get the train down to the coast whenever the sun peeks out to say hello, descending on the likes of Ayr, Troon or Largs.
It will be heartening for people to hear then that some of the beautiful west coast beaches have been given a Blue Flag Award ahead of the summer.
Owned by the Foundation for Environmental Education, the Blue Flag is given to beaches which meet certain criteria including water quality, cleanliness, safety and available facilities.
A total of 48 Scottish beaches were given the award, across every corner of the country, including some within day trip distance of Glasgow.
Here's where you might consider dipping your toe in the water in the coming weeks:
- Girvan
- Maidens Turnberry
- Millport Cumbrae
- Prestwick
- Troon South
