The series remains as one of the most beloved "Batman" series in gaming history, with the earlier ones being so popular, it spanned a trilogy that all saw critical acclaim.
New 'Batman Arkham' Game Leaks Next Title Coming
GameRant shared a new report that details a new leak that talks about the possibility of a new "Batman Arkham" game that is reportedly under development.
However, it may not be the "Batman Arkham" game news that you were expecting as this is reportedly not a continuation of the title that Rocksteady Studios developed 10 years ago.
The leak claims that the game is part of the "Batman Arkham" VR games that Camouflaj and Oculus Studios have worked on, with their first game released last year. This specific game, "Batman: Arkham Shadow VR," let fans take a trip back to Gotham City and the famed Arkham Asylum, where they got to wear the cowl and be the Dark Knight.
The leak came directly from Mark Rolston, a Hollywood actor who also voiced Commissioner Jim Gordon in "Batman: Arkham Shadow VR."
Rolston said that "they," referring to Camouflaj and Oculus Studios, are working on a new game. Rolston also revealed that he will reprise his role as the voice actor for Commissioner Gordon in the upcoming game, according to his latest interview with Culture Combine at Fan Expo Chicago 2025.
There's a Catch on This Next 'Batman Arkham'
As mentioned, this may not the good news that many fans are hoping for. First, it is not the mainline series that is said to be getting a new game. While the "Batman Arkham VR" is nowhere close to "Batman Arkham's" popularity, it is still a notable game portraying a new kind of adventure for the Caped Crusader.
The next caveat is that Rocksteady Studios has still not yet confirmed any news about the sequel to its original "Arkham" trilogy.
That being said, there is still a massive demand for Rocksteady Studios to continue the development of the "Batman Arkham" series, whose last mainline game they developed was released in 2015.
Currently, the trilogy comprises 2009's "Batman: Arkham Asylum," 2011's "Batman: Arkham City," and 2015's "Batman: Arkham Knight."
