An Australian couple, who recently relocated to Texas, found themselves in a highly awkward situation after taking their young children to the popular sports bar Twin Peaks on a busy Friday night without doing any research first. TikTokers Andrew and Laura, who share their experiences under the handle @itsandrewandlaura, posted a video detailing the shocking experience they had shortly after moving to the U.S., which quickly went viral, racking up over 560,000 views.
When the family was out on a walk, they decided to stop for dinner somewhere nearby. They’d driven past the restaurant several times and thought it looked like a great spot. In an email to BroBible, the couple explained they thought it looked “cool,” like an American restaurant with a “Colorado/lodge style vibe.” Spoiler alert: This story won’t end happily with them finding a new favorite restaurant.
However, Twin Peaks is not famous for snatching meals, but for its servers who wear revealing outfits. The couple quickly realized they were in the wrong spot after being seated with their young kids. Laura noted that they were just “surrounded by a**” while Andrew joked that they tried desperately not to look at the waitresses while waiting for their meal. They definitely blamed themselves for not Googling the place first.
Never try a restaurant without researching it first
If you’re planning a visit to Twin Peaks, Friday nights are when things get even more intense. While servers generally wear cleavage-revealing tops throughout the week, Friday evenings often feature themed nights where the staff wear even more risqué outfits. For example, one Twin Peaks location in Fort Worth hosts lingerie nights every Friday, where the servers swap their usual paid tops for a full set of black lingerie while serving discounted food and drinks.
Now, don’t worry, not every location goes for the full lingerie theme. Plus, servers can opt out if they aren’t comfortable with the revealing attire. One Twin Peaks server shared on a Reddit Ask Me Anything post that workers who aren’t okay with the themed nights can either choose not to be scheduled that day, or in some locations, they can simply wear their normal uniform. That’s a good policy, giving the staff some agency in a tough environment.
Despite the initial shock and awkward seating, the couple confirmed that the food was genuinely delicious, and the staff was friendly. They even mentioned they’d probably go back for lunch sometime. That’s a strong endorsement for the kitchen staff, at least.
During the clip, Andrew switched seats with his wife, which caused a flurry of comments questioning his motives. Laura quickly clarified that the seat switch was absolutely “NOT so that he could face the wall.” She explained that their daughter wanted him to sit next to her, which is a sweet detail that totally clears up the misunderstanding.

(Note to self, do your research first.
) hahaha. We joke about the
