Arnold Schwarzenegger credits his kids for introducing him to football

Arnold Schwarzenegger as a chef

Arnold Schwarzenegger, widely known for his successful career as an actor and bodybuilder, recently revealed that his knowledge and love for American football were largely acquired through his children. In an interview with People, the 76-year-old Austrian-born actor discussed his involvement in a Super Bowl commercial for State Farm and shared how his kids introduced him to the sport.

Being more familiar with soccer due to his European background, Schwarzenegger explained that he relied on his children's experiences and discussions about football to learn about the game. Whenever his sons Patrick and Christopher would have their friends over, they would engage in conversations about fouls and rules, prompting Schwarzenegger to inquire and increase his understanding.

According to Schwarzenegger, his children's friends were knowledgeable and experienced, serving as excellent teachers. This led to the family hosting football events at home where they would often serve thousands of pounds of pizza, turning it into a grand affair.

Schwarzenegger, who shares four children with his ex-wife Maria Shriver, namely Katherine, Christina, Patrick, and Christopher, also has a son named Joseph Baena from a previous relationship. The actor had a diverse career, transitioning from bodybuilding to acting, and now partnering with State Farm for their Super Bowl commercial.

The commercial itself showcases Schwarzenegger as Agent State Farm, playing on his iconic action movie star image. However, when asked about his personal rooting interests in the upcoming Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers, Schwarzenegger remains impartial. He expresses his enjoyment of watching both teams play and looks forward to witnessing the best football on display.

Fans of Schwarzenegger can catch his State Farm commercial airing just before the start of the second quarter during Super Bowl LVIII, which will be broadcasted on CBS at 6:30 p.m. ET. Whether he is discussing football or engaging in thrilling action scenes, Schwarzenegger continues to captivate audiences with his diverse talents and vibrant personality.
