In a move that’s likely to keep it on the sunny side of Donald Trump, Apple on Wednesday announced its largest American Manufacturing Program (AMP) commitment yet. The tech giant signed a $30 billion-plus agreement with Broadcom to produce more than 15 billion US-made chips, including a $1.5 billion expansion of Broadcom's Fort Collins, Colorado, facility.
In a post on X, Apple CEO Tim Cook called it a step towards an "end-to-end silicon supply chain" in the US, and the company thanked "the president and his administration for supporting important projects like this one" in a statement.
