Antonio Conte already has his dream Tottenham wing-back amid Emerson Royal transfer links

UEFA have named Tottenham Hotspur loanee Destiny Udogie as one player who has the potential to take European football by storm this year.

Spurs signed Udogie during last summer's transfer window before sending the talented wingback back to Serie A side Udinese on a season-long loan for the 2022/23 season. The talented 20-year-old's sky-high potential has been confirmed by UEFA, who named him as one youngster with the potential to have a breakout year.

UEFA's snippet on Udogie read: "Five goals from wing-back in 35 Serie A outings in his first campaign for Udinese persuaded Spurs to get a jump on the competition for his signature. Loaned back to Udinese, he continues to maraud from box to box and has thrived in Italy's U21 side."

The Verona-born talent has chipped in with two goals and one assist in 11 league outings this term, previously admitting that he loves to roam forward. "I love to attack, I love to attack. I have a very good physique, so I attack with my physique," he admitted on The Italian Football Podcast.

"Also with my feet I like to dribble, skill and some pace. I think these are my best qualities."

Udogie typically operates as a left-wing-back in a back three system, a position that both Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon have played in for Tottenham this season. However, the Lilywhites have failed to find similar success on the opposite flank, with right wing-back Emerson Royal struggling to consistently perform since joining the club 18 months ago.

Royal has been linked with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan over the last few months whilst Sporting CP star Pedro Porro has been mooted as a potential replacement if the Brazilian were to leave N17.
