Anthropic is back with a new model, Claude Haiku 4.5. This is a small model designed to deliver near-frontier AI performance at a fraction of the cost. The model is now available to all users across Claude apps, Claude Code, and via API access.
According to Anthropic, Haiku 4.5 offers coding performance comparable to Claude Sonnet 4, which was launched earlier this year, but does so at one-third the cost and more than twice the speed. The company says that Haiku 4.5 even outperforms Sonnet 4 in specific areas like computer use, making tools such as Claude for Chrome faster and more responsive.
For developers and teams working on real-time applications, including customer support bots, live chat systems, or AI-powered code generation, Haiku 4.5 is designed to strike the right balance between intelligence, latency, and affordability. The new model is priced at $1 per million input tokens and $5 per million output tokens, making it one of Anthropic’s most cost-effective offerings yet.
Haiku 4.5 is now available on Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud’s Vertex AI, where it can act as a drop-in replacement for Haiku 3.5 or Sonnet 4.
