Loose Women star rules herself out of Strictly after Kaye Adams' early exit

Loose Women star Janet Street Porter has ruled herself out of Strictly Come Dancing after Kaye Adams' exit.

Kaye became the first contestant to leave the BBC One Latin and ballroom show on Sunday evening after she faced Matt Goss in the dreaded dance off with a second performance of her and Kai Widdrington's Charleston. Unfortunately, after a few mistakes, Kaye found herself the first celebrity to be axed from this series after three judges voted to save Matt.

As she returned to Loose Women following her stint, the panel - Janet Street Porter, Coleen Nolan and Denise Welch - shared their praises for Kaye after her Strictly performance with Denise saying she was robbed.

However, as talk turned top what Loose Women star would be next to take on the famous competition, one star was keen to rule herself out - insisting she would never appear on the show.

When Kaye suggested to the others that Kai would be a great dance partner, she told Janet they'd make a great team. Whilst Janet said with no doubt that Kai would be great, she would never be on the show.

It comes after Jane Moore defended Kaye for her early exit as the panellists discussed it on yesterday's episode of Loose Women.

"I have to say, she was robbed. I thought she did so brilliantly and for me, she is what the Strictly journey is supposed to be all about," she said, "She'd never danced, she's not a performer, she was well outside her comfort zone, she was the first to admit it and she improved immensely from the first week to the second and yet she found herself out."

Whilst Janet Street Porter agreed: "I think it's really unfair. I sent her a text last night. I said 'you showed such guts going it, I really think it shows guts. I think women of a certain age have a tough time when they enter something like Strictly."

When Kaye left the show on Sunday, she spoke of her "delight" for Matt and Nadiya.

"It was the right result and I did make mistakes, and when it comes to that high pressured situation that’s what happen, so I am delighted for Matt and Nadiya. The only person I am just sorry for is this wonderful man, who has just been so brilliant," she said.

"It was a hell of a lot of fun, I said my ambition was to learn to love to dance and actually I have seen a whole new side to myself, it’s opened a little door. It’s been a wonderful experience and to spend time with such talented people has been a joy."
