Alison Hammond clings to Dermot O'Leary as she suffers awkward moment on ITV This Morning as she asks 'who's that man?'

Instead of being saved by the bell, Alison Hammond was saved by an ad break as she suffered an awkward blunder while appearing on This Morning. The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV daytime show on Tuesday (April 4) alongside her co-host Dermot O'Leary.

The usual Friday hosts kickstarted their first of two full weeks on the programme on Monday as they fill in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield who are taking their annual Easter break. And during their second day of the week at the helm, Alison and Dermot were joined by a very familiar face.

Fashion star turned beauty guru Trinny Woodall was back in the studio and she returned with a bang as she took to the catwalk for a classic This Morning makeover. She was on hand to help three real women who are all stuck in a style rut and looking to be transformed by Trinny and her team.

But before she appeared on the catwalk for the segment, Trinny was seen backstage as she got to work with her team while Alison and Dermot teased what was to come on the show. While getting to work backstage, a gentleman was seen standing beside Trinny during the quick chat with the hosts.

And it was at this point that Alison couldn't help but point out the fact she didn't know who he was. "Who's that man?" she inquired to which Dermot initially replied: "Don't know," before the former X Factor host exclaimed: "It's Josh! Remember Josh does the hair, doesn't he.."

"I didn't realise," Alison confessed before Dermot, 49, waved towards the TV screen in the studio and said: "Hi Josh! Nice to have you with us." And trying to recover from her blunder, 48-year-old Alison also started to wave and shouted: "Hi Josh! Are you alright?" Dermot then added: "Nice to see you, Josh!"

Alison then cosied up towards her co-star and pal and said in a slightly lowered tone: "That was awks." She then loudly said: "Awks!" before letting out a brief laugh and carrying on with the show while Dermot watched on with his arms crossed in front of the camera.
