A West Side pastor is offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest in the shooting death of his 14-year-old cousin last weekend.

Damarion Jakes was found with two gunshot wounds to the head after officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert just before 6 a.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of West Van Buren in East Garfield Park, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died Monday afternoon, officials said.

Police reported no one in custody.

“My hope is that we, as a whole community, can look at turning the tables,” the Rev. Paul Jakes said at a news conference Wednesday announcing the reward.
