JENIN (PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES): The Israeli army said it had launched drone strikes in the occupied West Bank area of Jenin Monday as part of an "extensive counterterrorism effort" that the Palestinian health ministry said killed four residents.

Israeli drones have struck targets in a stronghold of militants in the occupied West Bank and hundreds of troops are deployed in the area

Israeli media said the military also conducted airstrikes, reviving a tactic it had largely halted during the past two decades.

At least 50 people were also injured in the attack on a refugee camp in the city of Jenin
