The man accused of killing Queenslander Toyah Cordingley on a tropical beach was extradited from India overnight to face court in Australia.

Rajwinder Singh, the prime suspect in the alleged murder of Far North Queensland woman Toyah Cordingley has been extradited from India back to Australia to face trial. It brings the years-long investigation that rocked the Cairns community one step closer to being heard in court.

Police say Mr Singh fled to India the day after Ms Cordingley was found dead on Wangetti Beach north of Cairns in 2018.
