“If we play the right way, you never know who is going to go off,” Emre Vatansever said. “I’m expecting there might be some more players with improved stats in the second half because we’re trying to share the ball.”

“To play in this game, to play with the greats, to be a championship organization, we’re going to have to keep improving,” Wade said.

“Adversity is a real thing, but to not put your head down or quit says a lot,” Copper said.

“Emre will be there through the 2023 season,” operating chairman Nadia Rawlinson told the Sun-Times following James Wade’s resignation. “We’re excited and confident in his ability to lead the team. We feel good about him in this role for now.”

As the Sky embrace the All-Star break, Copper is gearing up for her third straight All-Star appearance Saturday.

Whether it’s unforced turnovers or a stretch of missed shots, the Sky have had a hard time recovering from in-game adversity.
