Kia introduced its first pickup truck, the Tasman, last year. Unfortunately, it's only for markets like Europe and Australia, which means it won't make its way to the US. But that's not to say Kia isn't exploring the idea of a pickup for America.

Kia’s EV Day 2025 event in Spain saw lots of new electric cars and variants thereof get their time in the spotlight. Amid the pomp, presentations, and excitement of a brace of all these new EVs, there was also a frequent question: “When’s it coming to America?” 

The carmaker targets a 15-model BEV lineup by 2027, and it will build key BEVs in the US, small and mid-size BEVs in Europe and China, and small BEVs in India.

Ho Sung Song did not reveal specifications, but the EV9 GT may borrow the EV6 GT's dual-motor AWD powertrain that delivers 576 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque
