The Prime Minister said the UK could take the step of recognising Palestine’s statehood in September, if Israel does not meet a series of conditions.

“The Palestinian people have endured terrible suffering. Now in Gaza, because of a catastrophic failure of aid, we see starving babies, children too weak to stand. Images that will stay with us for a lifetime. The suffering must end.”

The UK will refrain from recognising Palestine in September if Israel agrees to a ceasefire and getting more aid into Gaza, Sir Keir Starmer said.
