DEHRADUN: A 25-year-old kanwaria, Sonu alias Gaurav from Suncity of Haryana's Rewari district, was feared to have drowned in the Ganga in Haridwar on Saturday after he was swept away while taking a dip.

HARIDWAR: After a gap of almost two years due to Covid pandemic, the fortnight-long kanwar yatra started on Thursday. Over 4 lakh devotees collected water from Ganga and another 6.10 lakh pilgrims have either arrived in Haridwar or are on the way, officials claimed.

DEHRADUN: A small sand mound appeared briefly in Ganga near the Brahmakund at Har-ki-Pauri on Thursday and instantly became the centre of attraction for pilgrims on the first day of the kanwar yatra.
