Ukraine's atomic power operator said Sunday that the last reactor at Europe's largest nuclear power plant has been shut down after the plant was reconnected to the electricity grid.

Ukraine's atomic power operator said power lines had been restored to the Zaporizhzhia plant and that they were preparing the reactor to be cooled and transferred to a safer state.

Preparations are under way for the facility’s ‘cooling and transfer to a cold state’, according to Ukraine authorities.
