Ryanair issues list of 14 countries for which you’ll still have to wear masks on flights

Ryanair is dropping its face mask rules on flights for passengers after the EU announced that coverings are no longer mandatory - but some holiday hotspots such as Greece and Spain haven't made the cut

The EU has dropped mask requirements on flights, however many countries including Italy, France, and Greece will still require passengers to wear them.

A number of popular holiday destinations will be affected

The rule will remain in place on flights heading to 15 EU countries - including Spain.

Rules will change on 16 May

France will no longer require passengers on trains, metros, busses and domestic flights to wear masks starting Monday, 16 May, lifting one of the last remaining Covid measure in the country. And the European air safety authority will no longer recommend masks be worn on flights within the EU.

"From that date, face masks will be optional on all Ryanair flights except those flights to/from the 15 EU States where masks remain mandatory on public transport"
