A court has unsealed documents in a 2021 bomb threat case involving felony charges for the Club Q shooting suspect. The district attorney said a conviction would've required family testimony.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — An El Paso County, Colorado, judge on Thursday unsealed a 2021 case involving Anderson Aldrich, who is accused of fatally shooting five people and injuring 17 at an LGBTQ+ nightclub in Colorado Springs.

In a June 2021 incident, the Colorado nightclub shooting suspect loaded bullets into a Glock pistol and warned their frightened grandparents not to stand in the way of an elaborate plan to stockpile guns, ammo, body armor and a homemade bomb to become “the next mass killer.”

The counts against the shooting suspect include 48 hate crime charges, one for each person known to have been in the club at the time.

A year and a half before the Colorado Springs gay nightclub shooting that left five dead, the alleged shooter was accused of threatening to kill grandparents if they stood in the way of plans to become “the next mass killer.”
