Christian Eckes was a dominant force in Saturday's NASCAR Truck race at Martinsville, but a rash of late yellows completely changed the complexion of the finish. Several drivers chose to pit for fresh tires, rapidly cutting through the field and one of them had his sights set on the Championship…

Majeski, who was sent the to rear early in the race due to an uncontrolled tire penalty, made his way back to the front and pounced on leader William Sawalich on a restart with 20 of 250 laps remaining.

Eckes started third but had grabbed the lead by the exit of Turn 2 on the opening lap. He cruised to the Stage 1 win, earned the Stage 2 win thanks to a late caution and was never seriously challenged in the final 32 green-flag dash to the finish.

It was the ninth victory of Heim's career and his fourth of the 2024 season. He now has 24 playoff points (most of any driver) and closed the gap in the battle for the regular season title. Heim also earned a $50,000 bonus for the win.

Waters, an 11-time winner in Supercars, will make his second Truck start of the 2024 season at Kansas with ThorSport Racing.

Heim had built a more than 8-second lead before a bizarre incident – Marco Andretti lost the entire rear-end housing off his truck – brought out a late-race caution and brief red flag.
