Authorities say the men could have died at sea if they hadn't been found thanks to a safety device.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority said in a statement that two people had died when the remains of the aircraft were found near Bulman on Sunday afternoon, a day after the plane took off from Nhulunbuy.
