The grand prix veteran is well known in F1 circles, having spent 34-years at his previous Enstone employer under its various guises as Benetton, Renault, Lotus and most recently Alpine. 

The Dutchman will race in the all-electric championship for the first time since 2022 after his brief tenure in Formula 1 last season with AlphaTauri.
