Zinedine Zidane given warning about Paul Pogba as Real Madrid step up transfer pursuit

Zinedine Zidane has been warned he is likely to clash with Paul Pogba, if he takes him to Real Madrid .

Zidane wanted to sign the Manchester United midfielder this summer and while the European window doesn’t close until next week, a move now appears highly unlikely.

Pogba had previously revealed his desire to seek a new challenge away from Old Trafford but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has no plans to let him depart during the Premier League campaign.

Franck Sale played a key role in Pogba’s development, spotting him as a 12-year-old before facilitating his move to Le Havre.

And he believes a clash between the two Frenchman would be inevitable if he does move to Real Madrid, given their personalities.

“If Paul has a strong personality around him, in time there will be a clash somewhere,” Sale told Optus Sport.

“When he left for Juventus a few years ago, with Alex Ferguson that was very complicated too. Paul didn’t concede because he has such a strong character. So when he says ‘I’m leaving’, he’s leaving.

“If tomorrow he goes to a big club like a Real Madrid, he will still have his conflicts, even with Zizou.”

Pogba has started all three of Manchester United’s matches this season with Solskjaer failing to bring in the reinforcements he wanted.

That has all but ended his hopes of a transfer but Sale believes it is only a matter of time before Pogba moves on.

“I think he is ready for a new challenge, that is obvious. I can see him leaving for another big club,” he added.

“Paul is a man who needs to be challenged. I think he is becoming too comfortable at United.

“It is not as demanding for him as it was years ago."
