Zara Tindall has been given a six-month driving ban after she was caught speeding at 91mph near her Cotswolds home, it is reported.

The Queen’s granddaughter was issued four points on her licence after exceeding the 70mph limit on the A417 near Cirencester in November, according to Gloucestershire Live.

The 38-year-old had already accumulated nine penalty points on her licence over the past three years.

By exceeding 12 points with this latest offence, magistrates in Cheltenham were forced to impose the six-month ban.

The Olympic silver medallist and wife of rugby player Mike Tindall did not attend court because she is currently in Australia.

However, her lawyer pleaded guilty on her behalf to driving in excess of the speed limit in her Land Rover at Dartley Bottom, Daglingworth on November 6, 2019.

Prosecutor Farley Turner said: "Because Mrs Tindall already has nine points on her licence she was unable to accept a fixed penalty for this offence."

In addition to the six-month ban, the court fined Ms Tindall £666 plus costs and a victim surcharge of £151.

The royal’s mother Princess Anne was caught speeding on the same stretch of road in 2001.
