Zac Taylor comments on T.J. Watt’s COVID-19 test after Joe Burrow scuffle

Much has now been said about the scuffle between Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and Pittsburgh Steelers pass-rusher T.J. Watt.

One thing that hadn’t been touched on yet? The fact that a day after Watt was all in Burrow’s face after throwing him to the ground, Watt went and tested positive for COVID-19 (presuming he’s vaccinated, though the team didn’t specify), putting him on a reserve list.

It wasn’t hard to find concern for Burrow from Bengals fans online given the circumstances. And Wednesday, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor essentially confirmed he was right there with them, as captured by Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic: “My concern level wasn’t zero percent.”

The good news? Taylor got the all-clear on Burrow and others after standard testing, per ESPN’s Ben Baby:

So that’s good news, to say the very least and leave it at that.

As for Watt, Burrow revealed what he said to the defender after the altercation. Jonah Williams has also commented on it and Kirk Herbstreit noted it will be a big hit for Burrow with his teammates.
