YouTuber and science educator Hank Green is facing criticism after admitting he used AI to help research a recent episode of his Ask Hank Anything series. The debate started after viewers shared a clip from the episode online and claimed one part sounded like it came from an AI chatbot. Green denied that AI wrote the line but admitted he had used ChatGPT during his research. He later apologized, saying he had relied too much on AI while working under heavy pressure.

Hank Green responds after AI research admission sparks criticism

The controversy began after an episode of Ask Hank Anything featuring creator Soupytime was uploaded to the Complexly YouTube channel on July 30. Soon after, a clip from the video spread across social media. Many viewers believed one of Green's comments sounded like an AI-generated response.
