YouTube stars Stromedy and DK Money take 14-hour flight three days out from boxing fights

Social media stars Kyle 'Stromedy' Godfrey and 'DK Money' were forced to travel for over 14 hours just three days out from their boxing matches on Saturday night after missing a flight.

Godfrey will make his boxing debut, while DK will fight for the second time on the inaugural Showstar Boxing card, but their preparation was halted when they were forced to reschedule travel to make it to the UK.

They are based in California, but missed their initial flight and ended up having to detour through New York before getting to London on Wednesday afternoon, just hours before the open workout.

Neither man was popular with the raucous UK crowd despite their intensive journey to make the event, with fans showering them both in boos as they worked out.

"We hopped off the flight and hopped right on stage," Godfrey told Mirror Fighting immediately after his workout, before DK added that he was "so tired".

"We did a world tour basically," Godfrey added. "We stopped in New York - we were on planes for 14 hours.

"We flew from Arizona to San Diego, then from San Diego to New York and then flew from New York to here and came straight to the venue.

"We missed our first flight but I'm good now."

DK Money did not share the same sentiment, joking that he was "about to go to sleep right now".

The pair are a part of social media talent brand Prime Capitol, alongside Andreas Eskander who was due to fight Ashley Cain on this weekend's card but was forced to pull out on late notice.

And they'll trade their vlog cameras for boxing gloves on Saturday night at the OVO. Arena Wembley when they step into the boxing ring, DK Money for his sophomore outing and Godfrey for his debut.

DK was pipped to a razor-close decision by Nick Ireland on the undercard of Paige VanZant's last fight with Rachael Ostovich in July, while Godfrey is known for an infamous sparring video with Tik Tok star Bryce Hall.

They face Brit Ryan Taylor and American Austin Sprinz respectively on this weekend's event, and are confident they'll be bringing wins back Stateside with them.

"I already feel like I have my first win," DK explained. "I had so many people message me about it.

"I think Nick is way better than Ryan Taylor, 100 per cent, if I can stay calm and relaxed then I can stop him.

"I've seen one or two things, he's only been training for a few weeks and I'm not worried, as long as I stay relaxed I'm good.

"Ryan is more hot-headed, but Nick is a much better boxer."

Tickets are on sale now at and via AXS for Showstar Boxing 2022, which will be headlined by Deji vs Alex Wassabi.

If you're outside of the UK, you can watch the fight on PPV via the Showstar website for £6.99.
