Youths spotted ignoring lockdown rules to fight in Liverpool cemetery

A large group of youths have been caught on film apparently ignoring lockdown rules to fight at a Liverpool cemetery.

The large group of teenagers was spotted in Toxteth Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon.

In the footage sent to the ECHO, a group of around 20 youths can be seen close together, despite current social distancing guidance.

A number of the group can also be seen apparently fighting in the clip captured by a passersby.

Although the coronavirus lockdown was eased slightly this week allowing people to exercise as much as they want, meeting up in groups is not permitted under the current guidance.

One individual who spotted the group told the ECHO: "My housemate and I were taking a daily walk through the cemetery and upon entering we immediately saw a large group of youths very close together.

"None of them were socially distancing and they were fighting and coming into contact with each other a lot.

"Another group joined also, in total there were at least 20 if not more."

Under the new guidance, issued on Sunday night by the Prime Minister, individuals are allowed to spend more time outdoors and sunbathe where they previously could not.

However, we are only permitted to meet one other person from a different household outdoors while social distancing at all times.

People are still not permitted to gather in a group of more than two people from outside of your own household.

The only scenarios where this permitted by law is for work, funerals, house moves, supporting the vulnerable and in emergencies.
