Most people, especially gibbering, self-obsessed neurotics like Stuart Heritage, would probably feel better if they took a few minutes' mental rest each day, whether it's called TM, CBT, mindfulness or oogy-googey.

I've been doing TM off and on for decades. It is a reliable way of taking us to the junction between sleeping and waking, and keeping us hovering there. With very tangible results, as Stuart Heritage observes. But his cross-legged posture is neither necessary nor helpful, because for many people it will be stressful.

A&E consultant? Headteacher? Acas conciliator? How disappointing that you followed the stereotype that the most stressful jobs are senior management positions. Stress-related illness is much more prevalent at the other end of the employment scale, where people have little or no control over what they do, breadline wages and, often, precarious contracts. Next time, ask some office temps, seasonal workers or "zero hours" care assistants how they cope.

When you are a self-employed outdoor worker and wake up to yet another day of rain and think, "Shit, no money again", the stresses of football managers, headteachers and the like seem a million miles away.

I was dismayed but not surprised that at the keyholder meeting, despite there being 16 men and four women in attendance, it's Anne-Marie from Sweden who has to go in the day before to "vacuum with a $20 dustbuster".

Unwittingly, perhaps, Alok Jha reproduces an established tradition of "failed" private Antarctic expeditions that blame capricious weather, extraordinary ice, hostile publics and indifferent officialdom. Such narratives also work hard to assert their scientific credentials. In retrospect, there might have been better campaigns to get involved with.

Marina O'Loughlin hates the marking system, "this bluntest of reviewing instruments". So do the rest of us. Don't do it then.

Can I remind Marina O'Loughlin that the "numpties" who give reviews on Tripadvisor are just normal people who give an honest opinion on an evening out.

Andrew had a lucky escape, and not only because Suave was rude. Who would want to admit that their partner was a "celebrity wardrobe stylist"?

Lucy Mangan characterises Viktor Yanukovych as an autocrat who had everything but the support of his people. She may be confusing the people who forced him out of Kiev with, well, the people: in 2010, over 12 million of them voted for Yanukovych. The OSCE said the elections were in line with European standards, and the turnout would have shamed the UK.

Have any of your "grown-ups" had children?' The response to the question from Isobel, aged four, baffled me, aged 58. The sky ends "100 times farther from the ground at 10,000km above sea level"? Surely Peppa Pig in a hot air balloon would have sufficed?
