Young Rangers fan raises £30k for charity by raffling off Europa League Final tickets

A young Rangers fans raised £30,000 for charity after raffling off his Europa League Final ticket.

The Record reported yesterday that Gers -daft Mitchell Carling managed to score some briefs for the game, but selflessly sacrificed them for a better cause.

The 14-year-old, from Dundee, decided to sell £20 raffle tickets to raise cash for two children's charities.

And punters lined up in their droves to try their luck at booking their place at next Wednesday's clash with Eintracht Frankfurt in Seville.

The online Crowdfund raffle managed to incredibly raise over £30,000 in one day.

But Mitchell isn't stopping there.

He said: "In under 24 hours I hit my initial £20,000 target, and a short while ago we passed £30,000.

"The number just keeps getting higher, so I decided to raise my target to £55,555, for reasons I am sure any Rangers fan will understand."

Mitchell added: "When I got the tickets, I was obviously over the moon, but seeing the demand for the tickets online made me think how valuable they were, and that I could do some good by raffling them for charity.

"I’ve seen some tickets for say for thousands, so this way everyone has a chance, and someone will win two tickets for just £20."

Mitchell, from Dundee, now living in Dubai with his family, has selected the diabetes charity, JDRF, and another for disabled and autistic children, Caudwell Children.

The draw is open until 3pm on Sunday May 15, with the winner announced at 6pm to allow time for travel arrangements.

Tickets to enter the raffle can be purchased here.
