Young mum is internet cleaning sensation with more followers than Mrs Hinch

A woman from Liverpool has taken the internet by storm after creating her very own cleaning TikTok account.

The “cleaning influencer” from Huyton has become a viral sensation, even building more of a following than the popular cleaning guru Mrs Hinch.

Abbi McMilan, 26, started the Clean with Abbi TikTok account in October and has since racked up over 1.5 million followers, a million more than Mrs Hinch herself.

And she has totalled a whopping 16 million likes in comparison to Mrs Hinch’s 500k.

The following is thanks in part to her dedication and commitment to post daily videos which captures her cleaning everyday household items.

Speaking to the ECHO, Abbi said: “I started off by just watching YouTube and cleaning videos to get motivation. I just loved watching them and it was my way of down time once the kids were in bed.

“I noticed a few cleaning accounts already about so I made mine in October and literally it just blew up straightaway.

“I had a couple of videos that went viral and then other pages started sharing my content and it just went a bit crazy.”

Mum of two Abbi said she does her best to keep her house immaculate adding: “I like to try, but it’s hard because my partner is like my third child so it is very hard and I feel like I can relax more when it’s all done.”

The Huyton born mum who touched on perceived comparisons with Mrs Hinch said: “I love Mrs Hinch but I do try and stay away because I am my own person and sometimes I do get a few people saying Mrs Hinch wannabe.

“It was a couple of years ago I actually made an Instagram account and I didn’t tell my family or anything. I felt embarrassed that it was a cleaning account and I ended up deleting it.

“This was all before Mrs Hinch got very popular and it’s just weird looking back thinking I was embarrassed and I shouldn’t have been.”

Abbi’s account is so popular that she has received requests from America asking her to come over and clean homes in the U.S.

She added: “I get people from America asking me where I’m based wanting me to go and clean their house.

"It's crazy but I always think about how much I should charge.

“I’m always getting requests in my inbox of people asking for advice.”

On the pressures of being a popular social media influencer, Abbi ultimately tries to take it in her stride, adding: “Some days it is a little bit hard but I say to myself I do have to slow down.

“Sometimes I think I need to post but I do a lot of filming while the boys are in school and then I’ll put those videos in my drafts so I can space them out.

“So it looks like I’m cleaning all day everyday but I’m not, it’s just so I’m getting it up.

“The sink is my favourite thing to clean. It’s very therapeutic to me. Say if I’m having a busy day then I’ll clean that and then I’m just happy then.”

Having become a social media influencer revered by millions of people across the world, Abbi said: “People say I’m a cleaning influencer and it all still feels a bit crazy to me to be honest.

It started going crazy when I hit a million because it was shooting up so quick, I don’t think I really had time to sit and think wow what’s going on.

“When I hit a million I just cried and thought what the hell is going on.”
