Young man rushed to hospital after attack by group at Spanish Arch in Galway

A young male was assaulted at the Spanish Arch in Galway city over the weekend.

It is believed that the male was set upon by a group of up to 10 males at the famous location in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The group of men are described as being around 18 to 20 years of age.

A garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: “Gardaí are investigating an assault which occurred at the Spanish Arch, Galway on the 4 th July 2021 at approximately 3:20am.

“A male aged in his 20s was taken to University Hospital Galway with non-life threatening injuries.

“No arrests have been made. Investigations are ongoing.”

Gardai have issued a public appeal following the incident and wish to speak with this group of males.

They are asking anyone who may have been in the Spanish Arch area between 3am and 3.20am on Sunday, July 4, to contact them on 091 538000.
