‘You’re gonna go down’: California couple leaves home for 4 hours. Then they catch neighbor’s outburst on Ring camera

A Huntington Beach, California, couple had to watch their neighbor knock on their door, yelling, “You’re gonna go down.” The only issue? They weren’t even there at the time.

What did their Ring camera catch?

In a TikTok video with more than 8.7 million views, user @1800fxckoutmyface shared Ring camera footage recorded while she and her partner were out. The clip shows their neighbor angrily pounding on the door, claiming she “has an attorney” and accusing the couple of keeping her family awake. The only problem? They weren’t home and couldn’t have made any noise at the time.

The neighbor accused them of “fighting [expletive], and something.” After shouting for some time, she eventually walked away.

Was their neighbor drunk?

Many viewers thought that the neighbor might have been intoxicated based on her behavior in the clip. She made a significant amount of noise herself while trying to lodge a complaint, leading some to note that she was the one disturbing the peace.

She claimed she was “unable to sleep,” despite appearing in flip-flops and skinny jeans, a possible sign of day drinking. Commenters pointed out slurred speech and a wobbly vocal inflection throughout the Ring video clip.

“When people slur [their words]. I immediately stop listening,” one commenter wrote, referring to the woman’s speech pattern. She appeared to slur the word “attorney” while making her legal threat on the Ring footage.

The outburst, in general, prompted viewers to ask, “Drunk maybe??”

What should the couple do?

While some TikTok users found the encounter funny, others warned the couple to report the issue. Many people noted that a person’s aggressive outbursts can escalate into ongoing disputes or hostile living conditions, especially in apartment complexes.

Noise is a natural part of apartment living, some TikTok users said, and even if the couple had been making some noise, it would not justify the neighbor’s aggressive response, especially to a leasing office.

“Unfortunately I’ve been renting apartments for years and here’s the thing, it’s an apartment not a [expletive] house. There is going to be noises [because] it’s an apartment,” one user wrote.

The couple’s best option, many suggested, is to report the incident to their leasing office, noting that the neighbor’s behavior could create a hostile environment. The Ring footage clearly identifies the woman and could be useful in case of future disputes.

Reporting her early would also help protect the couple from any false noise complaints down the line. In that way, the Ring footage might have been a blessing, providing tangible proof that they weren’t responsible for disturbances in their Huntington Beach complex at that time.
