Costco has a diverse customer base, but as microinfluencer Christian Grech (@grechoffical) discovered, there might be some sketchy characters around, too.
In the five-second clip, which has amassed 977,700 views, Grech says, “See, this is how you know I’m at a Costco.” He then panned the camera to the floor, which showed a small plastic package filled with a mysterious pale powder.
“You would never find cocaine on the ground at a Sam’s Club,” he adds.
Most commenters agreed it was very Costco
In the comments, users agreed that such a discovery was commonplace for the warehouse membership club.
“Costco is like Walmart and Sam’s Club is like Target,” one commenter wrote.
“Costco’s free sample game is just better tbh,” another added.
While a third revealed, “Certain Home Depot and Lowe’s parking lots have this problem, especially near a big construction site, and it’s the good stuff.”
A fourth joked, “My local Costco it’d be pure my local Sam’s on the other hand would be laced.”
However, not everyone agreed that Costco is as bad as it seems. “Costco is the girl you take home to your parents,” a further commenter remarked. “Sam’s Club is the girl you text at 3am on a Wednesday.”
Is cocaine legal in the U.S.?
No. All forms of cocaine are illegal under federal law in the U.S. This includes the use, sale, possession, and transportation of cocaine.
Briefly, back in 2020, Oregon became the first state to legalize the possession of small amounts of cocaine. However, this law was reversed in 2024, making the possession of cocaine illegal once again.
This isn’t the only strange find in the warehouse club. Recently, Canadian-based Costco customer Meg (@missmeegg) paid $16 for Colby Jack cheese—only to find it covered in mold.
“I love when I pay $16 for a block of cheese and it has fresh gross mold over it,” she said sarcastically.
