‘You have a right to flee’: Ron DeSantis own words used against him as he claims it’s OK to run someone over

Ron DeSantis has yet to comment on the shooting in Minnesota but judging by his past words he should really be coming out to defend Renee Nicole Good, considering he’s already said it’s ok to run people over if there is a mob surrounding your car.

That’s right, back in June of 2025, in an appearance on the Rubin Report Podcast, DeSantis actually said that it was perfectly fine to “flee for your safety” in a vehicle if a mob is surrounding you. Of course, in this scenario the mob he envisioned was the protesters at an upcoming No Kings protests from last year.

“If you’re driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety.” DeSantis states, adding, “If you drive off and you hit one of these people that’s their fault.” There you go, straight from the horses mouth, it’s the fault of the people surrounding your vehicle according to DeSantis.

DeSantis’ words are very applicable to the situation which unfolded in Minnesota on Wednesday. Nicole Good found her vehicle surrounded by a mob who were certainly posing a threat. She did exactly what the Florida Governor advised and yet Republicans still paint her as the villain because they lack a spine and moral consistency.

Ron DeSantis is a hypocrite, what else is new?

Obviously DeSantis isn’t going to stand by these words, we can’t expect Republicans like him to remain consistent with their own beliefs because their beliefs change depending on whether the perpetrators are left or right (they always want to pin the blame on the left).

“I love that Republicans just take the side that fits their current narrative.” An individual on X observed. However, others argued that a “mob” was different to federal agents. But how can that be when ICE have been acting like the literal mob ever since Trump took office.

These so-called “federal agents” have been busting down doors and dragging people off of the streets without warrants or any regard to the legality of it all for months now. Is it any wonder people are afraid of them and may try to flee for their safety as Desantis puts it. Let’s also not forget that shooting someone is supposed to be a last resort for ICE and other such authorities. The video clearly shows that the agent was out of harm’s way, at the very least, before he fired the last two shots.

While DeSantis hasn’t commented on the situation yet, the rest of his party are already hard at work pushing their version of events and making sure they lead the narrative. DeSantis is one of Trump’s biggest bootlickers so can we really expect him to maintain his argument that Nicole Good was simply exercising her right to “flee to safety?”
