‘You get what you pay for I guess’: Woman orders never-ending pasta bowl at Olive Garden. Then she realizes why it’s only $13.99

Since 2022, Olive Garden has launched its annual Never Ending Pasta promotion, which runs from August until November for $13.99. Although you can receive all the pasta, breadsticks, and soup you heart desires for a decent price, one Olive Garden customer jokingly suspects why this deal is such a steal.

The quick clip uploaded by TikToker Baelam (@baelaems) reveals her “POV: now you know why it’s $13.99 endless pasta at Olive Garden.”

While sitting at her table, she unveils her plate of rigatoni with sauce and sprinkles of parmesan cheese. Instead of covering the entire pasta, the sauce was piled at its center. But it isn’t only her pasta with a measly portion of sauce. Then, she pans over to her sister’s plate, who ordered the same dish, and has the same amount as well. However, the content creator takes this in stride, laughing at the sight of it. In addition, finds a silver lining, writing in the text overlay, “I was happy with my calamari lol.”

Overall, Baelam claims this is the only ‘negative’ experience she’s had with the restaurant chain.

“Been going to Olive Garden for yearss & this was my first ‘bad’ experience. No flavor either. I just thought it was funny the amount of sauce. And how bothered my sister was,” she writes in the caption. “Maybe they were running low? Idk but idc you get what you pay for I guess, I still ate a little of the pasta and had a nice sister date! Also this is why I don’t try new things. I should’ve stuck with my chicken Alfredo dish I usually get.”

Viewers condemn Olive Garden for the lack of sauce

“This shouldn’t of left the kitchen with that little sauce,” one viewer remarked.

“I wouldn’t be tipping cause what the shit. Give me my [expletive] sauce and cheese [expletive] it,” another echoed.

A former Olive Garden employee stated, “LMFAOO they did do you wrong bro. From someone who’s worked here two years, on the screen it’ll pop up as NEPB-pasta bowl. They tend to put less sauce but not that less lmao. Cooks were bored and must’ve almost been out of 5cheese lmao.”

Moreover, some revealed a way to score extra sauce: by ordering it.

“Just so you know you can get a free refill of sauce alone,” one commenter shafred.

“The kitchen always does this! Then proceed to get mad when we ask for a side of sauce. Ik it’s like $5 but get the boat of sauce! It’s endless as well and they do all the sauces,” a second said.

How big are the servings for the Never-Ending Pasta?

According to Taste of Home, the first round of pasta—and the sauce—is the largest one. From there, the refills become smaller. However, this deal is unlimited on everything, such as the sauce. When it’s time for a refill, you can order a new sauce as part of the mix-and-match combo. You can choose from six different kinds: Marinara, Alfredo, Five-Cheese Marinara, Creamy Mushroom, Meat Sauce, and the new Spicy Three-Meat Sauce. Furthermore, if you love pasta sauce and want to use it for all your meals, you can grab an 8-oz serving, starting at $9.49. Prices will vary.

The promotion ends on November 16.
