‘You are like the third person I’ve seen’: Dallas woman makes Totino’s Pizza Rolls. Then she goes to take a bite

It’s no surprise that Totino’s Pizza Rolls are a beloved snack. One bite into them and it’s a taste of nostalgia. Besides its convenience, what makes this a childhood staple is its signature fillings, packed with meat, cheese, and sauce. Over the years, customers have noticed that these rolls are no longer what they used to be. After a Dallas woman discovered that her freshly cooked batch of pizza rolls contained mostly nothing, it ruined her tasty treat and put Totino’s on blast.

‘Totino’s, count your days’

As she stands in her kitchen, TikToker Andy (@andysmoon7) hovers above a bowl of Totino’s Pizza Rolls on the counter.

“This is crazy,” she says, pulling another bowl of pizza rolls close to her. “But all of these have been empty.”

Next, the content creator pinches one of the pockets open to reveal little to no contents inside. But it’s not just one bowl of pizza rolls. Then, she picks up another pocket from a separate bowl and peels it apart, which had the same issue.

“This one is gonna be empty,” Andy says, rummaging through one of the bowls and pops open another one. When this one has slightly more fillings, she is shocked.

“Oh, well. I guess this one [does,]” she remarks sarcastically, showing the couple of pepperoni pieces. Needless to say, the content creator is angry. “Totino’s, count your [expletive] days.”

To add insult to injury, this ruined her meal. “I was so ready to eat too,” she writes in the on-screen text accompanied by a broken heart emoji.

Andy continues to vent her frustration in the caption, writing, “@Totino’s Pizza Rolls what happened??? I was about to add garlic and butter too.”

A common phenomenon?

The video racked up over 184,000 views. According to commenters, Andy’s experience wasn’t entirely out of the ordinary. Many claimed to have dealt with this themselves or to have seen others online do so.

“You are like the third person I’ve seen show these empty pizza rolls,” one viewer commented.

“This is the second video I see like this. The guy was complaining because it said triple the pepperoni, but it absolutely had none in it,” a second stated.

“Girl, same all of mine have been empty too. I even tried cooking them for less time and it still turned out that way so I cut them open frozen and they were all empty. The store refused to give me a refund,” another shared.

“I got a huge box from Sam’s club last month that was the same way I was so upset,” a fourth recalled.

“This keeps happening to me too.. either empty or almost nothing in them,” a fifth revealed.

ChowHounded reaffirmed this complaint in an article from March, “A common Totino’s Pizza Roll-related issue seems to be disappointment with the amount of filling, or the balance of flavors therein.”

But this complaint has been around for some time. In a r/shrinkflation subreddit from two years ago, a Redditor posted a picture of two empty Totino’s Pizza Rolls, writing, “Wtf happened to pizza rolls. My hubby made some for a snack last night and the majority had no filling. They were also significantly smaller than the last time I bought them.” Users pinned the blame on shrinkflation and manufacturing errors.

Although customers have noticed these changes, General Mills (which owns the Totino’s brand) hasn’t publicly addressed them.
