Yodel intercept ecstasy package after Scot tries to use courier service to smuggle drugs

A man was caught after using a courier service to try to transfer a kilogram of ecstasy from the Netherlands to Scotland.

Ross Hunter, 29, of Glasgow, was given £1200 to organise the delivery last January.

But the package was intercepted by Yodel.

Police then searched the Glasgow flat it was destined for and later arrested Hunter.

At Glasgow Sheriff Court yesterday, the first offender pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of ecstasy. The court heard he was in financial difficulties after he left his job due to mental health issues.

The package contained MDMA with a street value of £41,500.

Sentence was deferred and Hunter had his bail continued.
