Yannick Bolasie shares touching WhatsApp messages from Everton captain Seamus Coleman

Yannick Bolasie has shared the touching messages Everton captain Seamus Coleman sent to him back in October.

It was yesterday confirmed that Bolasie has completed a loan move to Championship side Middlesbrough until the end of the season.

But the temporary move effectively brings the 31-year-old's time with the Blues to an end as his contract with the club runs out in the summer.

Bolasie has not featured for Everton since 2018 after arriving for £25m two years previous under Ronald Koeman.

He was also left out of the club’s 25-man squad for the first half of the Premier League season.

And after being told he would no longer be involved in Everton first team training back in October, Coleman sent a message of support to the winger.

He wrote: “I’m sorry your not training with us.

“Your attitude and application in training was amazing and you were on it every day and it was hard but enjoyable for me to be up against you every day! You make me better and prepare me for wingers at the weekend! Never lose your attitude and football can change very quickly.”

Before another message to Bolasie from Coleman read: “Likewise Yala! I will always be supporting you and watching what you do with interest! Nothing has changed you are the same player as you always were! Keep going.”

Bolasie has also taken to social media to wish Everton all the best after he completed a move to the North East.

He wrote on Twitter on Thursday night: “My last goodbye.

“All I can say is thank you all for the support I have been given through the good times & the bad

“Thanks to all my teammates who have always had my back & shown me support I wish the club all the best & hope we continue to keep pushing.”

Speaking in an interview in December, Bolasie claimed "something is not right" at Everton after being left out of the club's 25-man squad for the first half of the Premier League season.

He told The Beautiful Game Podcast : "The perception is [ Ancelotti ] doesn't think [I'm] good enough. If he doesn't, no problem. That's his opinion, I respect that, he's a top gaffer.

"I'm not complaining, I'm still doing my thing, still doing my work, still supporting the team. But just know that, something there is not right and I don't know what it is.

"At the end of the day, it takes two to tango. It's not just me. I've worked hard to get in the position I'm in."

Before he continued:"It's a bit of frustration, but it stems from [a long-term injury suffered] two or three years ago. It's not now. I'm in the best shape that I was. Every time I've come back for pre-season I've been [sent] into the u-23s.

"Just tell the truth, isn't it? I'm easy. Say the truth, it's fine. Don't say it's the ability and that, because strip off the training cameras and start showing what I'm doing.

"It's not a problem. I'm backing myself and I know. I know it's not down to ability. For me, I'm not losing any sleep. My peace of my mind is I know what I've been doing, giving it my all."
