OTTAWA _ Yanni Gourde recorded his first multigoal game of the season in the Lightning's 5-2 win over Ottawa on Monday.
Gourde scored in the first and third periods, his first non-empty net goals in almost a month, as the Lightning notched its 60th win.
The scoring opened up early for Tampa Bay as Brayden Point attacked the puck at the boards and skated out toward the top of the left faceoff circle.
He swiped a pass out to Nikita Kucherov, who flew off the bench and caught the pass along the toe of his stick at the right faceoff circle. Kucherov then took it a few feet forward before firing off a pass to Yanni Gourde, who stood just in front of the net for the re-direction and opened up the scoring Monday night.
Gourde's night didn't stop there as he notched goal No. 2 just before the halfway point in the third period.
Braydon Coburn sent a pass deep to Gourde from the blueline, opening him up for the one-on-one against Ottawa's Craig Anderson.
Gourde took a shot from the slot and was able to hit the open net off Anderson's glove. The Lightning are 19-0-1 when Gourde scores a goal. This was his first multigoal game on the season.
