Yacht club games says Xbox Play Anywhere "not off the table" for Mina the Hollower

Mina the Hollower has made quite the buzz online. From practically dethroning Forza Horizon 6 as the highest-rated game of the year, the game made a strong impression right out of the gate.

If you're an Xbox fan like me, you may have been disappointed to learn it wasn't part of Xbox Play Anywhere. As many of us have come to appreciate the feature, myself included, it's incredibly convenient being able to pick up a game and play it across my Xbox Ally X, PC, and Xbox Series X all while continuing the same save.

If you're interested in a deeper rundown of the game and what this 2D Metroidvania is all about, my colleague Alexander Cope put together a more thorough overview, which I highly recommend checking out here.

With that said, back to Xbox Play Anywhere. The developers behind the game, Yacht Club Games, did respond to a fan who wanted to know whether Mina the Hollower would receive Play Anywhere support. While it won't be available at launch, the studio says the feature isn't completely off the table:

We don't have a Windows version needed to support it. It's not off the table for the future, but not a launch feature.

Unfortunately, as we already know, it's not a launch feature. Still, it would be great to see the team revisit it down the line. For now, though, hopefully the game is able to achieve the financial success it deserves, because Mina the Hollower looks like a pretty fun game.

For me, I do often find myself deciding which games to buy based on whether they support Xbox Play Anywhere. It's certainly a feature that has changed my gaming habits, especially since getting an Xbox Ally X.

But that's just how I feel about it. I'd love to know whether you've had the chance to play the game or if it's simply not your kind of thing, and that's okay too. Let me know your thoughts in the comments, and as I always say, make sure you take part in our poll!
