Xavi sends urgent transfer warning to Barcelona outcasts in bid to raise funds and reveals Lionel Messi stance

Barcelona boss Xavi has urged the club’s outcasts to find moves away as the LaLiga giants bid to raise funds for further signings.

Despite experiencing a financial meltdown only months ago, the Catalans are pushing ahead with a £55million move for Jules Kounde having already landed Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski for considerable fees plus the free transfers of Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen.

Attention is now turning to player sales with Memphis Depay and Frenkie de Jong tipped to leave, with Xavi asserting that those outside his plans have no future in Barcelona.

“They are first-team footballers,” he told reporters in Dallas. “In fact, they have trained with us before the tour.

“I was very clear with them in May. They are also looking for solutions. We are trying to help them so that they can play.

“They know that here, it's going to be impossible. They have to find a solution to play.”

Lionel Messi has also been tipped to return to Barcelona and Xavi, who played with the Argentine for several years, is certain that the deal will have to wait until after this summer.

“He has a contract and it's impossible,” he stated.

“It doesn't make sense to talk about Messi. The president has already said that hopefully his story with Barcelona won't end.”
