Would-be Newcastle United consortium partner offers hint of vision with FA Cup final tweet

Would-be Newcastle United consortium member Mehrdad Ghodoussi reflected the views of Newcastle United fans after Leicester City's glorious FA Cup final win over Chelsea.

The 1-0 win for the Foxes resulted in goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel bring chairman Top Srivaddhanaprabha down from the stands to hoist the cup and enjoy the on-pitch celebrations with the players.

The moment, which won high praise from Geordie fans, was highlighted by Ghodoussi - the husband of Amanda Staveley and prospective board member should the takeover go through - after the game.

Sharing the images of Mr Srivaddhanaprabha, Ghodoussi took to Twitter and said: "Well done Leicester City - this is what it’s all about".

Toon fan Andrew Hutchison responded: "As a Newcastle fan that’s what we want from the owners of our club.

"To win FA cup is a plus don’t expect that.

"But run it right.

"Leicester city owners get it.

"Fair play and congratulations. Well deserved."

The late son of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha looked a proud man as he sat in the stands and looked at a Leicester banner which read: "Our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them."

Ghodoussi had previously impressed fans with a tweet about the European Super League when he said: “There’s no question that money plays a hugely important role in sports and football, as it does with anything.

"However, there is a line that should not be crossed when you begin to endanger the essence of the game and it’s competitive nature."
