Worst person you know Marjorie Taylor Greene finally has good take and condemns Israeli warmongering

Well, what do you know, a stopped clock really is right sometimes. As much as we can scarcely believe it, the conspiracy-mad Trump cheerleader that is Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene is actually – and we can scarcely believe we’re writing this – here with a great take.

Mark this day in history folks, because it won’t be repeated anytime soon. Taylor Greene has posted a long screed on X criticizing Israel and its cheerleaders for attempting to draw the United States into another war in the Middle East.

Taylor Greene correctly identifies that Israel’s none-too-subtle campaign must stop. She says, “Wishing for murder of innocent people is disgusting” and that “we are sick and tired of foreign wars”.

She’s finally right about something!

In a fierce blow against neocon hawks, she advocates for divorcing the United States from Israel and letting them stew in the mess they’ve made:

We have spent TRILLIONS in the Middle East and we have dealt with the aftermath of death, blown apart bodies, never-ending suicides, and disabling PTSD.

All because they told us propaganda as to why we must sacrifice our own to defend some other country’s borders and some other country’s borders. I don’t want to see Israel bombed or Iran bombed or Gaza bombed.

I don’t want to see Ukraine bombed or Russia bombed. And we do NOT want to be involved or required to pay for ANY OF IT!!!

In a separate post, Taylor Greene openly accused Israel of lying about Iran’s nuclear capabilities, arguing this is merely a pretext for them to launch an attack:

“Last week they said Iran was “days away from a nuclear bomb.” Well it’s been “days” now and Iran’s nuclear facilities are not destroyed. So does Iran have a nuclear bomb now that it’s been “days?” They’ve been telling us for decades Iran was “only a few years” or “only a few months” and “only a few days.”

She’s right (and, once again, I can’t believe I’m typing that). The real reason for these strikes is that Israel began to see that things weren’t going their way: there’s growing international revulsion over Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza, combined with Trump boasting that the United States and Iran were close to finalizing a deal around their nuclear research.

Benjamin Netanyahu, seeing that the Trump administration may be gently moving away from him, decided to force Trump’s hand. By attacking Iran and knowing they’ll respond, he effectively strong-armed Trump into supporting his attacks. And, if Israel goes on to claim they’re in genuine peril from their neighbors, Netanyahu is hoping for American boots and hardware on the ground to fight alongside the IDF against Israel’s enemies.

Or, as one of the replies succinctly puts it:

If Israel wants to enrage all their neighbors by indiscriminately murdering civilians, that’s on them. But they should be prepared to deal with the consequences of their actions, not go running behind big brother United States to save them when things get a little too hairy for them to handle.
