Worrying scenes as popular golf clubhouse bursts into flames for SECOND time in recent weeks in Bray

These were the worrying scenes at a popular golf clubhouse last night that burst into flames for the second time in recent weeks.

Gardai and emergency services were called to the Bray golf course just before 7pm on Tuesday after locals raised the alarm.

The building at Ravenswell Row was ablaze as brave firefighters fought hard to extinguish the fire.

Thankfully, no injuries of any club members or anyone in the area were reported but Gardai have said that investigations are ongoing into how the fire started.

One local told Dublin Live: "This is very odd, it's the second time a fire has happened at the golf clubhouse in recent weeks."

Other members and locals are furious with how the grounds are being treated by young kids who they claim come to the place to drink and leave it in a state.

One local said: "Was only saying two weeks ago that the area needs gardai patrol since the new road was built. Gangs of kids drinking constantly.

Another added: "The place is in bits after every weekend, full of kids drunk leaving the place like s*** - have they no parents? The gate to the beach will get shut next."

A Garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "We were called to the scene of a fire at a building at Ravenswell Row, Bray, County Wicklow, that occurred at approximately 6:40pm on Tuesday, 14 July.

"Local Fire Services also attended the scene and extinguished the fire."

He added: "No injuries were reported and investigations are ongoing."
